Dr. Cheema is a Board-Certified Pediatrician with more than three decades of medical experience and a long-standing commitment to caring for children and families. He completed his Pediatric Residency at the University of Florida, Gainesville where he trained extensively in newborn care, preventive medicine, acute care, and developmental health.

Dr. Cheema has served the Northern Virginia community as the founder and Medical Director of American Kids Care, PC. His clinical approach is rooted in evidence–based medicine, clear communication, and a warm, family–centered style that helps children feel comfortable and parents feel supported. Dr. Cheema’s international medical work across multiple countries and regions has broadened his understanding of how children experience illness and strengthened his approach to compassionate, culturally responsive care. As a proud father and grandfather, he brings both clinical expertise and a personal understanding of the parent experience to every visit
He is affiliated with Inova Fairfax Children’s Hospital and participates in the Pediatric Health Network, ensuring strong continuity of care for his patients. Dr. Cheema is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and maintains active medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
